Over a course of a lifetime, we will be overly exposed to foreign compounds that can enter our bodies through the foods we eat, the air that we breathe and directly through our skin. One example is GMO’S (Genetically Modified Organisms). GMO food crops are generally designed to be resistant to pests and herbicides. Other examples are chemical pollutants, drugs, alcohol, process foods and unhealthy intestinal buildup of bacteria in our own bodies. Unfortunately with the Standard American Diet, which most of us eat, lacks the nutritional value that is needed to process toxins out of our body naturally. Due to these factors, our bodies end up with an accumulation of toxins or toxicity.
When our bodies have an accumulation of toxic exposures and toxicity, the following symptoms or conditions may result: difficulty losing weight, migraine headache, fibromyalgia, generalized arthralgias, chemical sensitivity, and Chronic fatigue syndrome.
To have optimal Detoxification, it requires healthy nutrients. Our bodies depend on our Liver and kidneys to do the job. For this to happen, it is very important that the correct nutritional support is given through vitamins, minerals, and other major food components.
Our Detox Program is supervised by a Medical Doctor and Registered Nutritionist with a Lifestyle Educator. This added benefit to this program is the tools that are used and the one on one support with the Lifestyle Educator before, during and after the program.
By working with a Lifestyle Educator, you will learn about the importance of gut health and the different phases the Liver goes through to detoxify stored toxins. Also, will learn how you can reduce the risk for future toxicity. A Symptom Questionnaire will be completed to see how you are feeling overall. Also, a Bio Impedance Analysis (BIA) will be performed to see the Fat percentage in the body. The reason why Fat percentage is looked at is that toxic compounds are typically stored as fatty molecules, therefore, they are not excreted from the body. A high fat percentage can be another indicator that the toxic burden is elevated. Based on the results of the Questionnaire and BIA, this will determine how long a Detox should be done. The program can range from 7 days to 21 days. A detailed Food Elimination Menu Plan with a supplementation schedule is provided along with how to reintroduce foods back into your diet towards the end of the program. During the reintroduction phase, this tool can be used to identify food sensitivities that may not have been noticed before.
The bottom line is that there is no escaping toxic exposure completely no matter how much we would like to. But by incorporating healthier lifestyle habits and participating in a Detox Program at least twice a year, it will be an added benefit to our overall health emotionally, mentally and physically.
